Dining Room Interior Design Ideas

Contemporary Dining Room

Contemporary Dining Room source

This elegant dining room is the epitome of contemporary design! The combination of different elements creates a pleasing visual aesthetic that is both modern and inviting. The dining room is defined as its own separate zone (apart from other living areas) by the use of the reflective glass walls, and the combination of light and hard materials and colors is what makes this room visually arresting.

In order to decorate a room cohesively in the contemporary style, it must have a binding element to it. In this dining room, the binding element is the dining room chairs. Their black and white fabric provides visual interest, and the black and white pattern draws the black and white color scheme together. The reflective surfaces of the chair legs mirror the various reflective elements of the room.

The black and white color scheme is a classic, as far as contemporary decor goes, but if not done correctly, it can cause a room to become too dark. In this instance, the color of the walls is kept white to offset the dark furnishings, and the use of the mirrors reflects both natural and artificial light. With the elements of light and darkness properly balanced, this room is truly a work of contemporary art!
